Mark Your Spot

A simple activity to learn where group members are from and one other quick fact.

Materials

A tarp or piece of material (large enough to fit all group members on), or simply scratch the shape required into the dirt

How to Play

  1. Manipulate the tarp or material to create a ‘map’ of the state or country that is appropriate to where you are and where your participants may be from
  2. Ask participants to move to the ‘map’and stand in the spot that best represents the location of their home town
  3. Once participants are all standing in their area, ask each individual to firstly explain where they are from by saying “I am standing in…” followed by one other interesting fact about themselves

Example: “I am standing in Sydney, NSW and I enjoy running marathons”
